Searching for a Medical Assistant/Surgical Coordinator to join our Orthopedic practice and work with Dr. David Gilbert specializing in the hand, wrist, forearm, and elbow.
We are a solo physician practice looking for someone with an outgoing and friendly personality who has a great work ethic, and also a team player. This person must have good communications skills, be good at multi-tasking, and be organized.
Typical tasks include: rooming patients, assisting the doctor with procedures, coordinating and scheduling surgeries, charting in electronic medical records, sterilizing instruments, patient call backs, etc. Orthopedic experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Bilingual is a plus
Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
Licensed and/or certified required by state regulations a plus or willing to get certification.
Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor

Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
ePrescribe medications as directed by physician
Documenting in an Electronic Health Record. This includes updating the system with any relevant information since the previous patient visit.
Record medical histories and vital signs of patients by carrying out a proper checkup on them before consultation with the physician.
Assistant physician during examination/treatment.
Make sure test results are available to the doctor before he attends to patients.
Responds to patient requests in a timely manner and accurately document accordingly.
Prepare patients for examination by escorting them to the exam room.
Change dressings on wounds
Complete Pre-Op, Post-Op and Follow-Up appointments
Follow HIPAA guidelines
